Rhythmical patterns are continuously generated, based on an algorithm by Karlheinz Stockhausen. The rhythmical patterns trigger the fluorescent lights. Attached to the fluorescent tubes are contact microphones that pick up the sound of the tubes and the hum of electricity. The sound is played on two speakers, facing the lights. There is an exact balance between light and dark – sound and silence over time.
